Salaries under the microscope

Now that Wall Street CEO Salaries are under serious scrutiny, will that trend be reflected here? Will CEOs of major organisations be under pressure to drop their ridiculously inflated compensation? What is it exactly that CEOs do anyway....I'd like to know. Certainly most of them haven't been providing any vision and direction to their companies...something good leaders are supposed to do. INstead, they've been making shady deals and then running off with huge sums of money...so should the scrutiny extend to political leaders who earn as much as CEOs? Shouldnt their performance be open to public scrutiny? After all...we vote for them...last time I checked, civil servants (which include Ministers and the Prime Minister) serve the people....not the other way around.........
